Are Diaoyu activists harming China?

As Diaoyu activists return as heroes, Han Xiaoqing, People’s Daily’s Japan bureau chief, pointed out in an article that the actions of the Hong Kong activists who landed on the Diaoyu Islands have "harmed" China by fueling Sino-Japanese tensions. She said it was extremely important to maintain a stable relationship with Japan, as Japan has contributed to China's  remarkable economic growth through financial assistance and low-interest loans over the past three decades.
